Head to head

Everybooking vs Function Desk

Everybooking and Function Desk both put AI in front of the enquiry, but they built two different machines. Everybooking prices and sends a real multi-line quote automatically in seconds, from its own system. Function Desk’s agent carries the enquiry conversation from your own Gmail or Outlook and escalates when a lead is ready to book. If instant automated quoting across email, SMS, voice and social is the job, Everybooking is built for it. If the job is a function venue answering enquiries from a real inbox, Function Desk is the narrower fit.

Who each one is built for

Function Desk

Australian and UK function and event venues, one to a handful of spaces, answering their own enquiries from a real inbox.

Everybooking

High-value, multi-line bookings: retreats, conference hotels, tours, equipment rental and venues, weighted to the US market, wanting an instant automated quote across every channel including phone.

What actually separates them

01

Two different AI mechanisms, not two versions of the same one

Everybooking’s own homepage describes an agent that “answers the inquiry, prices a real multi-line quote, and sends it in seconds” across email, SMS, voice and social DMs. That is a fast, automatic quoting engine. Function Desk’s agent reads and replies to the ongoing conversation from your own Gmail or Outlook, answering questions from your knowledge base and escalating to you the moment a lead is ready to book. One prices instantly; the other works the thread.

02

It replies from its own system, not your inbox

Everybooking’s own FAQ lists its prebuilt integrations as “Stripe, Square, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Pipedrive, ActiveCampaign, Postmark, Twilio, SendGrid and Quo” - Postmark and SendGrid are both transactional email-sending services, and no Gmail or Outlook connection is offered for sending guest replies. Function Desk sends through your connected Gmail or Outlook, so the reply comes from you and sits in your Sent folder.

03

Usage credits versus one flat price

Everybooking meters usage: its published rate card charges 1,000 credits ($1) per funnel quote, plus separate per-segment SMS and per-minute voice rates, on top of a US$49 or US$99 monthly plan. Function Desk is one flat price, A$119 per venue per month, everything included, with no usage meter to watch.

04

Where they are genuinely ahead

Everybooking’s core strength is the instant multi-line quote itself, pricing a complex enquiry in under a second, plus voice, SMS and social channels Function Desk does not touch, and a banquet event order generator (an Operations module enabled for select accounts). If your business is a high-volume, multi-channel booking operation, that is real ground Function Desk does not cover.

When Everybooking is the better choice

We would rather you bought the right thing than bought ours.

  • You run a high-value, multi-line booking business, retreats, conference hotels, tours or equipment rental, rather than specifically a function or event venue.
  • You want an instant, automatically priced quote sent the moment an enquiry lands, across email, SMS, voice and social DMs, rather than a conversational reply.
  • You need phone and SMS covered as well as email. Function Desk is email-first and does not answer the phone.
  • You are comfortable with usage-based pricing that scales with quote volume, rather than one flat monthly fee.

Questions people ask

Is Everybooking cheaper than Function Desk?
It depends on volume, and the two do not price the same way. Everybooking’s Starter plan is US$49/mo with 50,000 usage credits (roughly 50 funnel quotes), and Growth is US$99/mo with double that, plus metered SMS and voice on top. Function Desk is a flat A$119 per venue per month regardless of enquiry volume. A high-volume, multi-channel operation may find Everybooking’s credits add up quickly; a lower-volume function venue may find our flat rate simpler to budget against.
Does Everybooking’s AI reply to enquiries automatically?
Yes, for the instant quote itself. Its agent prices and sends a real multi-line quote automatically, in seconds, across email, SMS, voice and social DMs. What it is not built to do is carry an ongoing conversation and hand off only the parts that need a person, which is what Function Desk’s agent does from your own inbox.
What does Function Desk do that Everybooking does not?
Sends from your real connected Gmail or Outlook rather than a transactional email service, carries the enquiry conversation and escalates rather than one-shot quoting, and prices at one flat rate in Australian dollars with no usage meter.
What does Everybooking do that Function Desk does not?
Instant automatically priced multi-line quotes, voice and SMS channels, and a banquet event order generator available to select accounts. If any of those decide it for you, Everybooking is the stronger fit.
